Frequently asked questions
In principle, all our employees with at least a 20 percent employment contract are invited. Employees with minimum employment levels or external employees will receive an invitation upon request from unit management or their leader (via e-mail to postfestival@swisspost.ch). Independent subsidiaries decide for themselves whether or not their employees can take part.
Ticketing starts on 15 March at www.swisspost.ch/postfestival. All employees who are invited will receive the festival programme and a written invitation by post on this day. To receive a ticket for one of the two days, your employee number must be provided. If your employee number is not available, the enclosed voucher code applies.
Each ticket is only valid for one person (no accompanying persons) and only on one of the two days. Attending both days is not permitted. The ticket is non-transferable and may not be sold. To gain entry to the festival site, the ticket must be presented with a staff ID card or official ID (ID card, passport).
Your ticket entitles you to free arrival and departure with public transport across Switzerland, exclusively on the day of validity of the festival ticket. We are organizing special trains so that everyone can be at the venue in good time and get home again after the last concert. All train connections, including special trains, will be available online. Travel by car is not provided for and not recommended.
Recommendation
Travel to festival: train to Zofingen with SBB, then walk to PostFestival at Heitere-Platz (approx. 15 minutes). Alternatively, a shuttle bus will be running from the station (Forstacker) to the festival grounds approx. every 15 minutes during the opening times.
Return journey: walk to station (alternatively: shuttle bus), then train in the desired direction.
There are regular connections to and from Zofingen. SBB is planning to provide additional seating capacity on these trains. Furthermore, SBB is additionally scheduling special trains.
Passengers on sections with special trains are advised to use these more spacious PostFestival trains. You may have to stand during the short leg between Olten and Zofingen due to the high number of visitors. Timetables may change due to construction works. Please double-check the timetable before you travel.
You can find all connections to and from Zofingen in the SBB app or at www.sbb.ch.

Ticket information
Your admission ticket to the PostFestival on Sunday, 20 August 2023, is valid on that day for one outward and one return journey from any locality in Switzerland to Zofingen via the normal route within the GA Travelcard area of validity, 2nd class. The ticket is valid for one person.
Remember to keep a printed copy of the event ticket, even after admission to the festival, as you will need the included special public transport ticket for your return journey.
Private transport (not recommended)
Leave the motorway (A1) at the Oftringen exit. Car parks are signposted, but availability is limited. Parking fee for cars: CHF 10.00. Please allow enough time for the traffic situation around Zofingen!
For safety and space reasons, access to the Heitere grounds is prohibited for all vehicles – including bicycles, mopeds and motorbikes. Parking spaces for bicycles, mopeds and motorbikes are also signposted.
Most hotels in Zofingen are already fully booked. We recommend that you arrive and depart on the day of the event. Using public transport is also recommended. Camping is not possible on the festival site. Parking a campus bus on the site is also not permitted.
Food, drinks, and so on can be paid for at the venue in cash, with all current cards and TWINT. A Postomat is available at the site. The voucher offered by PostFinance is available directly at the festival site after checking the ticket.
The PostFestival is a thank you to everyone. We want the festival to be an unforgettable celebration – across the Group, for all languages and all regions. Come to the PostFestival with your team. If your team also works on the weekend, leaders should plan shifts in such a way that as many employees as possible can attend one of the two days.
In doing so, Swiss Post expresses its gratitude and appreciation for the daily commitment of its employees to the company and the Swiss people. Instead of many small team and unit events, this year we wish to celebrate together with one big festival, while also kicking off the 175th anniversary of Swiss Post.
In planning and holding the PostFestival, we’re keeping close tabs on sustainability and the economical use of resources. It’s for these reasons in particular that we’re using public transport for travel and that the event takes place on the existing Heitere Open Air site in Zofingen, where we will also use a large part of the infrastructure.
No, the festival doesn’t cost a single tax franc because Swiss Post finances itself from its own resources, with the exception of regional public transport with PostBus. With the PostFestival, Executive Management is showing its appreciation for the daily work of its employees and is prepared to allocate an appropriate budget to this end.
Swiss Post invests large sums in the further development of its infrastructure, services and products – around three billion francs in the coming years. Our greatest asset is our employees, around 46,000 people across Switzerland, who give their all every day to ensure that letters and parcels are delivered, people transported from A to B, payments made and a wide range of digital services handled securely and conveniently. That’s why we’re especially pleased to give back and say thank you with the PostFestival. Because you make Swiss Post rock!
Efficiency measures are an ongoing task for any carefully managed company, including Swiss Post. If there are redundancies, such as after merging PostMail and PostLogistics into Logistics Services, they must be addressed by the company, not least to be able offer attractive jobs in the long term. The staff festival, on the other hand, is an expression of gratitude to employees and is largely funded by the earlier budget for smaller, team-based or department-based staff events (“Thank you to everyone”). The actual additional costs that Swiss Post incurs with the PostFestival are therefore limited. After discussing the matter, Executive Management decided that this expression of gratitude to employees is important and fitting. It is, after all, Swiss Post employees who set the company apart – and always will.
The PostFestival is Executive Management’s thank you to all employees. We hope that you can attend with your team if possible and that we can celebrate a monumental and unforgettable festival together. There may be certain situations in which this isn’t possible – for example if operational or geographical conditions preclude it. In these exceptional cases, team leaders can independently organize an individual team event and use the “Thank you to everyone” budget for that purpose.
Saturday | Doors open 1.30 p.m. / Grounds close 1 a.m. |
Sunday | Doors open 11 a.m. / Grounds close 9.30 p.m. |
The following are prohibited throughout the festival site: animals, weapons, fireworks, candles, sky lanterns, glass, selfie sticks and professional audio/video recording equipment. A maximum of 1.5 litres of alcohol-free drinks per person may be taken onto the site (exclusively in PET bottles or Tetra Paks).
Guests can leave the festival site at any time after being admitted for the first time. Guests will receive a wrist stamp that will enable them to re-enter the site on the same day of the festival. Readmission without a stamp is not possible.
The information stand is located next to the entrance, and it also serves as a meeting point and lost property office during the event. Opening times:
Saturday | 1 p.m. – 1.30 a.m. |
Sunday | 10.30 a.m. – 10 p.m. |
Lost property can be handed in at the information stand/meeting point, and you can collect items from there until Sunday evening. After that, items that have not been collected will be handed over to the Zofingen regional police force, where you can make enquiries from 22 August.
Or, an even better option: report lost property with the online lost property office for Switzerland at SECURE.EASYFIND.COM. Ideally, lost property will be returned to its owner automatically.
The site is largely wheelchair-accessible. At the Linden Stage and the Park Stage, there is a terrace with an unobstructed view for all visitors with disabilities. No special ticket is required for this. Wheelchair-accessible toilets can be found right next to the Linden Stage terrace, as well as at the “Ringier” and “Entrance” WC points. Cars with an official disability badge are allowed to drive to the bus stop on the festival site to drop off and pick up disabled visitors.
Wine and beer may be sold to people aged 16 and above, spirits and cigarettes to people aged 18 and above. On presentation of a valid identity card, young people will receive a band from the food stands and bars that allows them to purchase the relevant items that may be sold to them under the Youth Protection Ordinance.
- Strobe lighting effects may be used during the event.
- The average sound level (Leq 1 hour) may be up to 100 dB. High sound levels can damage your hearing, and the risk may increase the longer your exposure is. Ear plugs are available free of charge at the entrance, at the information stand/meeting point, at the drink stands and at the stages.
- Keep your valuables (wallets, mobile phones, ID, keys, etc.) on your person.
- Do not leave drinks unattended.
- Check the allergy information at the food stands.
- In the event of a medical issue, go to the medical point located to the right of the Linden Stage, alert the nearest security guard or call 144 directly.
- Observe your surroundings, assist if possible and report anything unusual at any early stage.
- Take note of the signposted emergency exits.
- Pay attention to the information provided by the event hosts and to the announcements on the big screens. Remain calm, even in emergencies, and promptly follow instructions.
Please note that you attend the PostFestival at your own risk.
The Zofingen regional association of the Samaritans can be found on site for minor outpatient treatment (to the right of the Linden Stage). In emergencies, they, together with the security personnel, will put you in touch with the on-site doctor and the emergency services as quickly as possible.
The taxi rank is located at the station, next to the bus station, at the Heitere grounds on the road to Zofingen.
